Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has come a long way following her tennis dream. She rose from obscurity to become a top-ranked tennis player, having won a Grand Slam title. The 25-year-old tennis player recently discussed what it was like to flip the pages and gave a detailed account of how she made her way with commitment and termination in the tennis circuit.

The second-ranked tennis player in the world has now advanced to the Madrid Open semifinals. Following the Stuttgart Open, the tennis pro is on track to make another final after defeating Mayar Sherif in the quarterfinals.

Aryna Sabalenka explains her journey towards her tennis dream 

The 25-year-old tennis star spoke about a wide range of topics related to her tennis career in the post-match conference after winning the quarterfinals. After her quarterfinal triumphed, a reporter approached her and questioned whether it had been more nerve-wracking or stressful to be the lower-ranked tennis player in light of her current position among the top tennis players on the WTA circuit.

She said, “It’s not like panic. It’s just like you want it so hard when you’re young, so you get crazy about things. Sometimes you overdo things. You overhit or you overtry, you know. Even like I remember myself, like I know that my footwork wasn’t really great. So, I would like do it too much so I cannot adjust to the ball because I’m, like, crazy, I don’t know, like on the court.” 

The Belarusian tennis player responded with a terse explanation of how everything was crazy for her, in the beginning. And how there were times when she occasionally overworked on her game that she believed went wrong. However, she also made a point of saying that once you have attained the position of a top player, you shouldn’t rush things and should take some time to relax and work on your game.

Further, back in 2021, when the Australian Open champion reached her first Grand Slam quarterfinals, she expressed her reaction to taking a step forward towards her dream of achieving a Grand Slam title.

The 25-year-old tennis player took on Ons Jabeur in the 2021 Wimbledon quarterfinals. But during the match, the tennis player started crying after realizing she had advanced to the Grand Slam quarterfinals and was not far from winning a Grand Slam title.

She also explains that she calmed down and realized that she still had a lot to accomplish before reaching the Grand Slam final. And that getting to the quarterfinals was not her ultimate goal. She advanced to the semi-finals before falling to Karolína Plíšková.
