Coco Gauff, an American tennis player, is forging her way into the sport with her passion and perseverance. Even professional athletes, though occasionally, need to maintain their parents’ calm. In 2019, 15-year-old Gauff managed her father’s composure throughout a competition in a swear-filled environment.

The tennis star has improved with time. In addition, her father, who has coached her for a considerable amount of time, is one of the main factors in grooming in sports.
When Coco Gauff calmed down her father
Gauff participated in the Auckland Open in 2019, when she was 15 years old. As she was playing Laura Siegemund, her father, who served as her coach, swore on the microphone while offering some advice. While Gauff’s father was coaching her from the courtside, the d-word “D**n” slipped from his mouth.

The American tennis player, at that time, let it go. But, during the break, she confronted her father and said, “You can’t curse.” Her father responded and said, “Did I curse? I said no, it was real weak…” Nevertheless, Corey added that it doesn’t even count, it was so weak. Even though, she concluded the conversation by saying that in some places, words matter.

After her father calmed down, the father and daughter laughed lightly about the incident. The then-15-year-old returned to the match afterwards. However, following the altercation, the father of the rising tennis star apologized to those watching the competition on television over the microphone.
Gauff enjoys having her father as her coach
Last year, the tennis star, in an interview, talked about how much she knows her father as a coach. She added that she is surrounded by her whole family who lives in Florida. The 18-year-old tennis player’s parents have left their job to follow their daughter’s dream. They were also among the successful athletes of their own time.

According to Coco, it’s nice that her father is her coach since he keeps the practice enjoyable and engaging while her mother handles the homeschooling and other household duties. She cherishes her relationship with her father.
