The British tennis star, Emma Raducanu, rose to prominence on the women’s circuit after clinching her first Grand Slam title in New York in 2021. Since then, the 20-year-old tennis star has been struggling to find her form, both during 2022 and the ongoing season, mainly due to injury woes. Even during the Madrid Open, the former world no.10 was forced to pull out of the tournament due to a wrist injury. On top of all this, Raducanu found herself in hot water after she delivered some controversial responses during the pre-tournament press conference. Amidst all the flak from the public, Serena Williams‘ former coach, Rick Macci, has now come forward to back the WTA player.

However, despite the adverse phase of her tennis journey, the British tennis star has received strong backing from the legendary coach, Rick Macci. The American tennis coach asserted that he believes that the former world No. 10 still has the potential to clinch a number of major titles.
Macci said, “Was asked yesterday during an interview can @EmmaRaducanu come back. She will come all the way back! Emma can beat anybody anytime anywhere and will win a few Grand Slams. You do not lose the talent. You cannot buy confidence over the internet.”

She asserted that tennis players and their press conferences have often been a target of scrutiny from the public. While empathizing with the 20-year-old player, Bouchard stated that it is much better to focus on your own performances than to be bothered by the skeptics and the naysayers.
