Serena Williams is not called a legendary tennis player for no reason at all. With 23 Grand Slam titles and 74 singles titles, she has established her legacy. However, she never needed a reality check from outside. Back in 2017, when she won her last Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, she had foreseen the possibilities.
Furthermore, following her gut feeling, she retired in 2022 after playing her final tournament at the US Open.

Serena Williams predicted the possibility of her retirement in 2017
In 2017, Williams took people by shock when she revealed that she was pregnant during the Australian Open. The American tennis legend clinched the victory with style after defeating none other than her own sister Venus Williams. After that astounding victory, in an interview, she talked about the turns her career could take. She said, “In this game, you can go dark fast.”
She elaborated on people’s perspectives and said, “If I lose, and I lose again, it’s like, she’s done. Especially since I’m not 20 years old.” And the upcoming lines were the prophecy of her subsequent retirement in 2022. She said, “I’ll tell you this much: I won’t win less. Either I win, or I don’t play.” And that is exactly what Serena Williams did. The 2017 Australian Open was her final Grand Slam title.

After that, she reached the finals of Wimbledon in 2018 and then again in 2019 too. Furthermore, she reached the finals of the US Open in both 2018 and 2019. Unfortunately, she could not clinch victory in any of the four tournaments.
How is Williams leading her after-retirement life?
Williams is enjoying the much-deserved relaxation after retiring from professional tennis. She goes out on date nights with her husband Alexis Ohanian, has play dates with her daughter Olympia, and enjoys being with friends. Moreover, she is also busy expanding her off-court empire, which includes her clothing brand, jewelery brand, and also venture capital fund to help in the growth of colored people and women’s businesses.
