Following her defeat, emotions ran high as Sakkari candidly expressed her frustrations during a tense exchange with her coach.

As depicted in Netflix’s ‘Break Point’, Sakkari’s anger surfaced as she vented to her coach, Hill, about feeling trapped by self-doubt. “I’ve reached my f******g ceiling again,” she screamed, revealing the depth of her disappointment. Despite Hill’s attempts to encourage her, Sakkari’s frustration remained palpable as she expressed uncertainty about her path going forward. “I don’t know what works for me,” she admitted, being stuck in her own uncertainties.

Along with that, Sakkari also lashed out at Hill for not taking her uncertainties seriously. “You’re trying to find excuses. You’re not seeing the reality. You’re not seeing that I cannot play anymore,” she shouted. While Sakkari’s journey at Wimbledon may have ended prematurely, this was just another moment of the numerous ups and downs that she faced on her journey with Hill.

Maria Sakkari’s emotional yet positive farewell to Tom Hill

Recently, Maria Sakkari parted ways with her long-time coach Tom Hill. While the Greek tennis star has faced moments of all sorts with him, she expressed her thoughts about him in an Instagram post, targeted to officially bid farewell.

“Tom, thank you for all the emotions, the support on and off the court, and the belief you had in me since day one,” she captioned her Instagram post. Along with that, Sakkari also regarded Hill’s efforts in helping her psychologically along with training her physically. “Not only did you make me a better tennis player, but you also made me a better person,” she added.

As the tennis star continues her journey with a new coach by her side, the moments of laughter as well as sorrow and frustration are to be witnessed once again.
