It was the year 2015. Serena Williams was entering the season on the back of winning the US Open title in the previous year. She began her campaign at the Hopman Cup, a warm-up tournament for the Australian Open. However, she suffered a shock defeat in that tournament. Poland went on to defeat Williams’ Team USA in the final to clinch the title. One of their star names, Agnieszka Radwanska, reminisced about the special victory.
Radwanska was at the top of her game during that time and came out all guns blazing against Williams. As the moment went viral on social media, Radwanska reacted to it in a way that showed the world that this memory lives rent-free in her heart.

This special victory still makes Agnieszka Radwanska flex her muscles
Radwanska paired up with Jerzy Janowicz for the Hopman Cup that year. The pair teamed up successfully, topping their group. They lost just one tie in that tournament against France. As a result, they proceeded to the final and took on Team USA, which comprised Williams and John Isner.
In the summit clash, Radwanska defeated Williams in the first singles match. It was a mouth-watering clash that went right to the distance, with the Polish star coming out on top in three sets 6-4, 6-7 (3), 6-1. However, Isner leveled the tie by defeating Janowicz in straight sets. In the deciding match, Radwanska and Janowicz combined their power to defeat Williams and Isner to lift the 2015 Hopman Cup.
Hours ago, a fan account on Twitter shared a glimpse of that match. Old memories were revisited and the post went viral on social media. It even caught the attention of Radwanska, who reacted with an arm-flexing and her country’s flag emoji, along with a face with sunglasses emoji.

What did Radwanska say about Williams?
A year later following her Hopman Cup victory, Radwanska lost against Williams in the Australian Open semifinals. The American star defeated her in straight sets 6-0, 6-4. Subsequently, Radwanska opened up about Williams’ game.
The Polish star said, “She goes on court and she just wants to kill it. There was just no mistake. Unbelievable serve. Everything, she was going for it. Yeah, I couldn’t do much. Not at all, actually. I don’t think anyone can really play on that kind of level at all.”
