Amid her peaks and troughs, Coco Gauff has been her candid self. Over the course of the 2024 season, the American sensation went through highs and lows as far as her performances on the court were concerned. Gauff struggled for form for the majority part of this year but ended her season on a high by winning the WTA Finals. Despite concluding her season just weeks ago, Gauff is in no mood to rest as she aims to perform consistently next year. As Gauff began her preseason journey, she made a rather hilarious comparison that brought back memories from her schooling days.
A couple of years back, Gauff graduated from High School and celebrated it in front of the Eiffel Tower ahead of the French Open. However, the memories from her schooling days are still fresh in the mind of Gauff. Earlier today, the 20-year-old took to X to announce the start of her preseason.
Gauff tweeted, “First day of preseason gives first day of school vibes.” The American sensation, who pursued her education while embarking on a successful tennis career, reminisced about the old days when she would go to school and the first day of it which brought in many surprises, just like the start of preparations for the next tennis season.

The former US Open champion has been quite active on social media and shared a couple of pictures on Instagram from her first day of the preseason. Gauff shared a collage of two photos showing her running on a treadmill while wearing a mask. The American sensation is determined to stay fit and begin her 2025 season with a bang.
However, if her comments after the WTA Finals win are anything to go by, it has been a hectic season for Gauff this year. Thus, her commitment to return to training and cut short her break remains commendable.

In the summit clash of the WTA Finals, Gauff was engrossed in a tense battle. Nonetheless, after almost three hours, she was able to defeat Qinwen Zheng in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (2). However, it happened all too quickly later on for Gauff, who was hardly able to catch a breath.
Following her win, she said, “Straight from the court–>> to trophy ceremony shoot –>>> to airport. Literally wearing heels at the airport. was not anticipating the match to go over 3 hours so had to rush out of mindddd but hey it was worth it. also sorry I wasn’t able to sign as much post match as usual I had to rush out fasttttt.”
Additionally, she also admitted to being very tired after the final against Zheng and wished to lie on the court during the presentation ceremony. “At the end of the match, when I, like, fell on the floor, I didn’t think I was going to do that. I kind of, like, made a promise to myself that I will only save that for Grand Slams. But honestly, to the way the match went, I was like, ‘I’m just tired. I just want to lay on the ground,” she said.
