As per recent reports, WTA has invested around $6 million into building the new stadium to accommodate the 4,000 attendees for the tournaments. This also includes a hotel facility for the players and practice fields. While that investment announcement from the WTA received major mixed reactions about a month ago, things have sadly gone from bad to worse. However, given that the courts are not ready till now, it is truly a concern for players who are going to be a part of the tournament including Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, Ons Jabeur, Elena Rybakina, Marketa Vondrousova, and many more.

The latest news indicates that the courts will be ready at the earliest by Saturday which is just one day before the event actually begins. So, this means that the players will have only 1 day to familiarize themselves with the main court. Given that this was a new court, a lot of players decided to arrive early in Cancun for practice, but it was all in vain. This includes Iga Swiatek.
