After winning the match against Kateřina Siniaková, during the on-court interview, the interviewer entangled her over whether she could speak French or not. He said, “Maybe a few words in French. We can try a few words in French?” To which, the 30-year-old tennis star replied with a subtle “Okay,” With a confused reaction on her face, she was once again bombarded with the same question, “Can you try French words, any French?” However, she came up with a hilarious reply and said, “Yeah. let’s go…Okay, sent me on the spot, but okay.”

The interviewer requested that she speak in French without even asking if she knew the language, which made the exchange funny. Collins looked annoyed by the question. The 15th-ranked tennis player was clearly dissatisfied, as the interviewer quickly stopped speaking in French and did not give the American a chance to answer.

She didn’t seem to be paying attention to what he was trying to say; instead, she seemed preoccupied with looking around. While this time it was not words, her expressions literally made up the moment, but when it comes to dealing with the crowd, nobody can beat her words and her actions.

Subsequently, while the Miami Open Champion’s giving-back attitude is quite popular on the court, she is proud of herself for carrying such an entertaining position, not making the sport boring when it comes to her.

Collins is presently honing her talents in the WTA Strasbourg tournament in preparation for the French Open. She was questioned in a pre-match interview about her thoughts on how to deal with fans who behave badly during games. The 30-year-old revealed, “I think we gotta have fun out there. I turn on the TV so many times and say to myself, like, boring. Nobody wants to watch robots on the court. I consider myself an entertainer and someone who brings some personality to the game and for me to keep everyone entertaining, I certainly do that.”

It’s certainly no easy task to compete against elite players in front of a split audience. The American, though, always steps up to the mark. Collins seizes the chance to reply in kind, in contrast to certain players, who might choose to ignore taunts from the audience. Her lively encounters with the crowd began much before her antics during the Italian Open quarterfinals.
