Katie Boulter, on the other hand, is coming to the tournament after her second-round defeat at the Linz Open. In her opening round match in San Diego, the unseeded British player breezed past the sixth-seeded Italian Jasmine Paolini in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, to reach the round of 16.
