What a show the American players have been putting on at the Australian Open! From thrilling rallies to stunning upsets, this year’s tournament has been a non-stop ride of electric performances. But what’s really got fans buzzing is the dominance of the American stars who’ve stepped up and delivered when it matters most. Coco Gauff, Emma Navarro, and Madison Keys have been leading the charge, taking out top opponents and lighting up the courts as we head into the final rounds. And it’s not just fans who are proud—none other than Brad Gilbert, Gauff’s former coach, has chimed in with his praise.

The Live WTA Rankings reflect the stunning performances put up by the American WTA Stars. In the Top 10 positions, four are held by American with Gauff leading the fray at the third spot. Following her are Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro who have continued to cement their status as World No.5 and No. 8. And the standout face? Yes, you guessed it right. Madison Keys has managed to jump 4 spots to reach the 10th position. Notably, Danielle Collins is not too far either and currently stands at No. 12. This ranking seems to have mesmerized Gilbert who could not help but take pride in the achievements of the female players.

Taking to his X, the 63-year-old shared his happiness over the Live WTA Rankings and wrote, “Live WTA Ranking wonder 💭 when last time 4 American 🇺🇸 women in top 10 and 5 in top 12.” And this pride is understandable given the giant strides that these players have made in recent times. In July last year, these 5 American players advanced to clinch spots within the Top 15, twenty years after Lindsay Davenport, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, Jennifer Capriati, and Chanda Rubin achieved the feat. Now, with the Australian Open unfolding, they have managed to up their rankings even more.

Interestingly, Gauff, Navarro, and Keys were also the three American players at the Australian Open who managed to make it to the top eight. And while Gauff and Navarro could not continue their run, Keys emerged as the surprising factor and has already sealed a spot for herself in the semi-finals, where she will be facing Iga Swiatek. Jessica Pegula and Danielle Collins, meanwhile, could not achieve big and were ousted in the third round itself. However, they ensured to deliver some jaw-dropping performances proving their mettle, which is very well witnessed in the rankings as well.

However, besides the stellar performances put up by the American stars in Melbourne, there is yet another factor that has caught the attention of tennis enthusiasts, and that is their resilience. The latest to depict the same? None other than Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff refuses to be bogged down by the Australian Open setback

Coco Gauff depicted delivered some remarkable performances in the build-up to her Australian Open campaign. She also led her team to victory at the United Cup which made many consider her a favorite contender for the Australian Open title. However, Guaff’s defeat against Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals came as a major surprise for many. But true to her nature, the star player is not ready to be bogged down and is only taking pride in her skills.

Speaking in the interview after the match, Gauff exuded pride in her campaign. “I feel like (at the) U.S. Open, I was playing with no solution, so that was more the frustrating part. Today, I feel like I’m playing with solutions; I know what I need to work on. U.S. Open, I needed to work on my serve. Not saying that my serve is where I want it to be, but I worked on it; obviously a big improvement. So I want to continue working on that, continue working on playing aggressive,” she said. Continuing further, the 2023 US Open champion expressed her confidence which is keeping her motivated for the rest of the season.

“So I feel like I’m on the road to the right way, the right path. Even though I lost today, I feel like I’m in an upward trajectory,” Gauff added. As the tournament unfolds, it will be interesting to see if Gauff can remain resilient and bag some major accolades going forward. But for now, all eyes will be on her compatriot Madison Keys who will attempt to whisk out a dominant Iga Swiatek in the semi-finals.
