Life beyond tennis often comes with its own set of twists and turns, and who better to know this than the legendary Kim Clijsters? As someone who has conquered countless challenges on the court, Clijsters seems to be diving into new, unexpected admission off the court—and the factor this time? Her daughter, Jada Lynch. Recently, Jada found herself caught up in a bit of a mishap, and while most might see it as a bump in the road, Clijsters has turned it into a moment of relented admission.
The 41-year-old tennis veteran took to her Instagram to share a picture of her daughter in her basketball attire. Remember, Clijsters, who tied the knot to the former American basketball player, Brian Lynch in 2007, welcomed her first child, Jada, in 2008. The 16-year-old follows in her father’s footsteps and is a rising basketball player, who has also secured a spot for herself in the St. Rose College’s team. However, any sport needs blood, sweat, and toil, and Clijsters’ daughter witnessed it quite literally.
In the picture shared by the former Belgian WTA Star, her daughter was seen bleeding because of an injury on her face. Captioning the picture, Clijsters made a relented admission and wrote, “I guess she was right when she said that tennis was for softies…🫣😉,” as she shared an insight into her daughter’s pain. Notably, several reports suggest she sustained an eyebrow injury, as evidenced by a bandage in the pictures, which later emerged across social media platforms.

However, Lynch depicted immense resilience. “I don’t care at all. As long as we win, that’s all that matters,” she said, per an Instagram post shared by her mother. Jada’s performance, meanwhile, spoke for her. Despite the injury, she shot almost two-thirds of the total match points, scoring 40 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. And eventually, her team managed to secure a 61-54 victory over their opponents.

Interestingly, Kim Clijsters shares a unique bond with her daughter. After her first-round exit at the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships, she shared that her daughter gave her tremendous support when she stepped back onto the courts. “Jada was like Mom, do it. If you feel like doing it, just do it.” She further acknowledged that the duo enjoys a lot of similarity in terms of their career goals and upbringing.
“Jada can understand. She plays basketball. She comes down to the gym with me. We do exercises together. It makes me think of how it used to be when I was younger. My dad was rehabbing his knee for soccer. It’s funny these moments that you can relate to,” Clijsters added.
