Can Ashlyn Krueger's rising star outshine Magdalena Frech's experience in the WTA Guadalajara showdown?

America’s Ashlyn Krueger will face Poland’s Magdalena Frech in the second round (R16) of the Abierto de Guadalajara. The fifth-seeded Frech has taken part in this competition twice before this year, but she has failed to make progress to the R3. Can she bring the results in her favor this time? Well, this is Krueger’s first appearance at this event, and even in terms of experience, the Polish tennis star will have an edge. However, on her day, the 20-year-old American is more than capable of changing all the equations.

Ashlyn Kreuguer’s best performance this season came at the WTA 125 Lleida, ES where she reached the QF. Frech reached the finals over there but was defeated by her compatriot, Magda Linette. In this tournament, she has already defeated Emina Bektas (USA) by 6-4,6-4 in the first match. Prediction: Frech to win in three sets

Magdalena Frech (43) is ranked eight places above Ashlyn Krueger (51). Apart from that, if we look at their form in this season, Frech has a win-loss record of 20-23, whereas for Krueger it’s 13-19. The 26-year-old Polish tennis star comes with vast experience playing against some of the top players in the bigger stages of the racquet sport. On the other hand, Ashlyn Krueger made her WTA 1000 debut in 2021. So, considering all these factors, the Polish tennis star looks slightly ahead of the American.
