Iga Swiatek was born on May 31, 2001, in Warsaw, Poland, to Dorota and Tomasz Swiatek. Her father was a rower who competed in the men's quadruple sculls event at the 1988 Olympics held in Seoul. In November 2023, she became the first woman in 15 years, since Jelena Jankovic in 2007 and 2008, to record 65 tour-level wins in back-to-back seasons.

Shining on the court is not the thing Iga Swiatek does. Taking benefit from the growing mental health support, Swiatek has also added a sports psychologist to her coaching team. Iga Swiatek and Daria Abramowicz have been together since 2019 when the Pole was only 17 and rated just outside the top 150 of the WTA. While Sierzputowski was her coach, Nick Brown, a British former professional tennis player, and former Polish Davis Cup coach, served as a primary adviser on occasion. After nearly six years of collaboration, Swiatek announced her separation from Sierzputowski in December 2021. Tomasz Wiktorowski, who formerly coached Agnieszka Radwanska, is her current coach.

A true philanthrope off the court, Iga Swiatek never misses an opportunity to give back to the community. In November 2023, her racket used during the French Open final to beat Karolina Muchova was auctioned for charity. Ultimately sold for around $63k, it was reported that all of the funds would go to charities fighting to raise awareness of road accidents involving children.

With her open fight for mental health support, Swiatek has also been donating to organizations that combat stigma against the same. "Each year around World Mental Health Day I have a special time when I stop for a moment and appreciate all the work on myself I do everyday as a person and as a tennis player," Swiatek said last year.
