While participating in the 2024 Cincinnati Open, WTA stars Sabalenka, Paula Badosa, Daria Kasatkina, and Sloane Stephens indulged in “Never Have I Ever.” From sleepwalking to googling their names and visiting colleagues’ places, these tennis stars amused the audience with their responses. Among them, Sabalenka maintained her funny yet composed self while answering.
However, her response to one particular question surprised her followers. When asked whether she slid into someone unknown’s DMs, Sabalenka firmly said, “No, not my style.” She further explained, “I’m waiting for DMs, but not DMing people.”

Known for her contagious laughter and bubbly personality, Sabalenka often stands out as a fun-loving extrovert. However, her personality is rather different on-court. After defeating Erika Andreeva in the first round of the 2024 French Open, she spoke about her personality and approach to Grand slams. “First time when I was coming here, I was so tight. I was so intense because it’s a Grand Slam. With the years, you realize this is just another tournament and you have to have fun.”
This Belarusian player further revealed her fun-loving side with her statement. “You have to be positive because it’s enough tension on court. If you’re gonna bring this tension off court, it’s just too much, So for me, the better way (is) to loosen up and to keep it mentally good, it’s just to have fun, of course. Honestly, this is just the way I am, Good or bad, whatever, but this is who I am!“ she said.

Sabalenka’s response in “Never Have I Ever“ is surprising because she is known to channel an extremely energetic personality even with her team members. She performed an interesting gesture to her fitness trainer which she transitioned into a funny tradition for her matches.

After successfully defending her title in the 2024 Australian Open, Sabalenka mentioned that one of her good luck rituals before the matches involved signing her fitness trainer Jason Stacy’s bald head. “We just like to do weird shit, guys!“ said Sabalenka showing her infectious smile to the media. “We just started this. I did it before the first match, and after I won, I told Jason, ‘Well, I guess it’s a routine right now.’“ she continued.

During the 2024 French Open, Sabalenka was asked by a reporter in the press conference whether she would like to carry forward this funny tradition in Paris. In her response, the Belarusian tennis payer said, “We just keep the traditions going, you know. Like I did sign his head today. Let’s see if it’s working or not…Hopefully that’s the key. But we’re going to keep tradition!”
