Lucky loser Jule Niemeier recently stunned top-seeded Maria Sakkari (9) to make it to the next round of the 2024 Bad Homburg Open. She will now face the former world number 2, Paula Badosa, in the R16. Badosa has struggled with injuries and a lack of consistency over the past few months. Her best results this year have been reaching the R16 thrice. However, in her previous match, the 26-year-old Spaniard looked BETTER in her comprehensive victory over the Dutch Arantxa Rus.

On the other hand, Jule Niemeier has already featured in two finals and one SF in ITF events. She has also made it to the semis at the WTA 250K Parma, IT. She has been in decent form this year, but can she deliver on the bigger stages of the game?

Badosa vs Niemeier: Head-to-Head

Currently, their H2H is at 0-0; they haven’t met each other before in their careers. However, it’s high time to see who will take the first step forward in this epic battle. Although Jule Niemeier (96) is placed above Paula Badosa (113) in the women’s singles ranking, the Spaniard can disrupt any opponent on her given day. She is a proven campaigner! Similarly, Niemeier is a mighty challenger. She has reached the QF of Wimbledon in 2022, with her grass court prowess on full display, but is it enough to keep her ahead of the Spaniard?
