After months of staying away from the sport, Raducanu returned to the game this year, and now that she has made it through the first round of the Abu Dhabi Open, her naysayers have received a strong warning about what’s coming ahead. Recently, Mark Petchey, a 53-year-old former tennis player, shared a warning for the haters of the British tennis player.

Whether it be social media or any other platform, the 21-year-old Brit has constantly been a target of hate on and off the tennis court. Her Grand Slam run was considered a fluke on social media due to the lack of consistency.

While she has made it to the second round of the Abu Dhabi Open, and has a resurgence in form, with which she won the US Open title, Petchey, on guard, took to his Twitter account to share a message for her haters: to be on the lookout for what’s coming in the future.

He wrote, “The naysayers won’t have a lot longer to be negative about @EmmaRaducanu. Better fill your boots before she is back in the business ends of most events.”

While it was an evident warning from the 53-year-old, it will be interesting to see what comes next for the Grand Slam champion, as she is ready to make bold moves on the court this year.

This is not the first time a fellow tennis professional has jumped to her defense. A few months ago, it was her agent who slapped the haters with the fiery Grand Slam warning.

Raducanu’s agency comes up with a strong message 

A few months ago, Max Eisenbud, the US Open Champion’s agent, emphasized how Raducanu would bounce back stronger at her own pace. Back when he appeared on the Tennis Podcast, he opened up about how the British sensation would settle things and make more deep runs.

Eisenbud said, “Anyone that’s betting against her, like, I wouldn’t bet against her, she’s gonna figure this all out. She’s gonna settle in. She’s young. You don’t just accidentally win the US Open the way she did. You have to be great to do what she did.” Not only did he shut down haters, but he also showed confidence in the 21-year-old tennis player’s tennis skills.
