Hard work ultimately pays off! And who better to ask other than the American legend, Serena Williams. The younger Williams sister strived hard early in her career to achieve success on the tennis court. It has ultimately bore fruit as Serena has gone on to become one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen.

Over her illustrious career, the former World Number 1 has gone on to win an astonishing 23 Grand Slam titles. She is eying an elusive 24th major title that will see her equal Margaret Court’s record. Recently, she talked about pursuing other ambitions and interests in her life.

Serena Williams reveals her interest in acting

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Serena was asked whether she would like to pursue acting after her tennis career. She said, “I don’t know if I have time, to be honest. It takes so much time and so much dedication.”

Further, she went on to add, “I think anything I would want to do, I would be really good at it or release the best that I can do in but practicing it and you know, do that but my time is a little short now but I would play an action hero because clearly, I should be an action hero.”

Serena’s comeback to tennis

Serena hasn’t had an ideal comeback to tennis after her lengthy injury layoff. Last year, she suffered a hamstring injury at Wimbledon that kept her away from tennis for around a year. Recently, she made her singles comeback at Wimbledon. However, she had a forgettable tournament, losing in the opening round against France’s Harmony Tan. Although Serena put in a brave fight, she couldn’t overcome the challenge of Tan.

After Wimbledon, Serena will participate in the National Bank Open in Toronto. The hard-court WTA 1000 tournament will commence on August 6. It will feature the likes of Iga Swiatek and Naomi Osaka alongside Serena.
