American tennis legend Serena Williams recently played the last match of her tennis career. The 40-year-old earlier declared the US Open to be her last tournament. She started her campaign with a straight-set victory in her first match. Further, the 40-year-old won a tough match against second seed Anett Kontaveit. Playing in her third-round match, however, Serena ended on the losing side. Hence making it the last match of her career.

After retirement, a pertaining question that exists is, will Serena come out of retirement anytime again? Former tennis star John McEnroe gave his opinion on the same. Here’s what he said.
McEnroe doesn’t think Serena will make a comeback
Speaking about the chances of Serena coming out of retirement, McEnroe believes it won’t happen. However, he did not completely rule out the possibility of it happening. “She did leave the door open. It would be weird if she pulls a Tom Brady! These are superstars and even if you’re not, you’re entitled to change your mind,” he said.
Further, the 63-year-old explained why he believes Serena won’t be making a comeback. “She doesn’t want to play a lot of events. It’s that commitment, day after day, she wants a family, she’s a venture capitalist. She represents so many things besides tennis: women being paid and treated equally, women being able to express themselves on the court, to being treated the same way as guys,” he added.
Serena ended as the second highest Grand Slam winner with 23 Grand Slam, only behind Margaret Court of Australia.

Serena Williams credits Sister Venus for her achievements
Both Serena and Venus Williams are legends of women’s tennis. The girls came from a hard childhood facing a lot of troubles to make it big on the world stage. With a determined father patting their back, the sister due rose to the pinnacle of world tennis.

Venus Williams broke into the scene early and Serena followed her soon. As the 40-year-old started her post-match interview for one final time, she was quick to credit all her achievements to her elder sister Venus Williams. The former world number 1 called Venus the person behind all her achievements throughout her career.
