Chris Evert and Billie Jean King have shared a deep bond ever since both came to know each other through tennis. They have both changed the landscape of women’s tennis, and they are still close today. Evert recently took to social media to wish King a happy 80th birthday with a heartfelt message. In her special message, Evert expressed her admiration and gratitude for King. 

Along with Evert, many others have extended their wishes to the founder of the WTA. The former coach of Serena Williams also shared a special message for her on the day she turned 80.

Evert and King have shared a relationship for quite a few years. After Evert was rid of her Ovarian cancer, she revealed that she had remained close to Martina Navratilova and Billie Jean King over the years. The three pushed women’s tennis front and center and have also managed to keep up with each other’s lives. Therefore, it was customary for Evert to share a special message for King on her 80th birthday.

The 18-time grand slam champion took to her ‘X’ page to wish the 12-time grand slam champion. Evert wrote, “Happy Birthday to the most wonderful friend and role model to me and many!@BillieJeanKing you have the energy and passion for life and learning like no other. Love ❤️ you..“

This message reflects the deep bond and respect that is mutually shared between the two legendary players. The younger American legend has always held her predecessor in high regard and showed it in her message.

Rennae Stubbs, the seasoned Aussie coach and prior guiding force behind Serena Williams’ exploits, was also sharing wishes for the tennis icon. Stubbs added her voice to the plethora of admirers with a heartfelt post.

She wrote, “Happy Bday to the greatest person I know! @BillieJeanKing 80 is the new 50! I ❤️ you and thank you for everything you’ve ever done for so many.” With her heartfelt message, she added to the list of tennis personalities wishing the 80-year-old tennis legend. As the day continues, we are bound to see many more share their wishes with the King.
