‘Women’s Health Is So Underserved’- Serena Williams’ Husband Alexis Ohanian Drops Harsh Truth Bomb Upon Witnessing Complicated ‘Menopause’ Admission

Whether it is women’s sport or their health, Serena Williams‘ husband Alexis Ohanian has often used his platform to invest in such communities.  The American internet entrepreneur has often been vocal when it comes to addressing the importance of women’s empowerment. After strengthing his position in the tech industry, he founded his venture capital firm, Seven Seven Six.

Since then, Ohanian has used that platform to invest in various female health apps and startups. Speaking of it, the Reddit co-founder revealed the reason behind his capital seeding in such communities by citing Gayle King’s demystification of “perimenopause”.

The ‘Queen of the Court’ was in a near-fatal condition after giving birth to her first child, Olympia. Her emergency C-section was a harrowing experience for the couple due to Williams’ medical history of blood clots in her lungs. Further, some medical negligence made it a much more challenging procedure.

Since then, the American internet entrepreneur has realized the importance of health and tech for women after he witnessed her wife, Serena’s pregnancy ordeal. His concern regarding the same has also been made evident in his recent social media posts. Alexis Ohanian recently came across a video of Gayle King’s demystification of “perimenopause”.

In that video clip, the American TV personality detailed how she had no idea about the phrase, “perimenopause,” until she found out about the same through her doctor. She further said it was normal for women who are in their 40s or something. The Reddit co-founder also came across that post as he shared the same on his Instagram story.

In doing so, he also revealed the reason behind his investments in women’s health apps and tech. Ohanian said, “This! Why @776fund seeded @elektrahealth @aavia.io women’s health is so underserved (still) by tech. CC @gayleking thx for demystifying”

Williams’ husband has also invested in women’s sports

Apart from funding female health businesses, Ohanian has also invested in women’s sports as he is the co-owner of the NWSL soccer team Angel City FC. The Reddit co-founder has never been reluctant when it comes to empowering female athletes’ roles in the spring community.

Notably, he was delighted when his soccer club previously acquired some of the top talents in the league. The American internet entrepreneur’s club has made some huge signings in the NWSL draft as they have acquired the soccer stars like Yazmeen Ryan and Alyssa Thompson.
