On Twitter, Peters posted a tweet challenging male players to beat her one on one, which later became the talk of the town, as she received heavy criticism. Speaking about it, she said, We’ve all experienced it, we all know. So, I think because it was so relatable is why it blew up. We’ve all been through it, really just women athletes, in general, I feel like that’s just something we have to deal with.”

Later, Griner also backed her team by giving Serena Williams‘ example. “Ain’t nobody going to Serena saying, ‘I’d beat you in tennis.’ They just love to f**kin’ hate women’s basketball. I don’t know what it is about women’s basketball,” Griner further said.

Meanwhile, Griner is in all sorts of trouble at the moment, as we probably won’t be seeing her in the next WNBA season, as the Russian court sentenced her to 9 years of imprisonment. Serena has yet to comment on that matter.

Griner received support from tennis legend Martina Navratilova

Recently, the American WNBA star, Griner, received a 9-year prison sentence in Russia for carrying illegal drugs. This incident garnered many reactions on social media, as both fans and athletes showed their support for the basketball player.
