However, in 2023, Coco became the world’s highest-paid female athlete. But where does the British tennis sensation stand on the list this time around? Emma Raducanu didn’t play much tennis in 2023. However, her off-court exploits helped her in getting featured in the Top 5 list of highest-earning female athletes in 2023.
As per the list published by Sportico, 7 out of 10 female athletes are from tennis. Tennis players have always dominated the list when it came to earnings. But when it comes to leading the group of millionaires, Cristiano Ronaldo yet again stood first in the Top 100 with a staggering $275 M. Let’s find out more names from the list.

The 2023 season was remarkable for the 19YO American tennis star. Apart from winning a total of 4 titles, she also won her maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open. Coco Gauff also reached the number 3 spot in the women’s singles ranking. These performances on the court helped her rack up a few mega deals and endorsements off the court. Additionally, Gauff was named the most marketable women’s tennis player in the world last year.

Coco Gauff secured the top spot of the world’s highest-paid female athlete with $22.7 M, of which $16 M came from her endorsements and the rest from her prize money. Iga Swiatek was in the second spot with $21.9 M. However, Emma Raducanu was placed at the fourth spot with a total of $16.2 M, out of which $16 M came from her endorsements.
Gauff managed to secure the top spot on the female’s list. However, she was nearly $10 M short of the cut-off of the Top 100 athletes. Sportico’s annual feature on the world’s highest-paid athletes, which was published on Wednesday, featured no women in the Top 100 list. Since 2010, there has been only one other occasion in 2018, when no women made it into this list.

Gauff placed at a different position in the list of the highest-paid female athletes of 2023 by Forbes
In 2022, Coco Gauff was at the number 8 spot on Sportico’s list with nearly $7.7 M in total earnings, out of which $6 M came from her endorsements. But in 2023 itself, when Sportico announced Gauff as the world’s highest-paid female athlete, Forbes picked Polish superstar, Iga Swiatek as the number one on the list.

Forbes estimated Iga Swiatek’s earnings to be $23.9 M, which was about $ 2M more than the Sportico report. While Coco Gauff’s earning was estimated to be around $21.7M, which is $1 M less than Sportico’s published report.
