Coco Gauff has already started to unleash her dominance on grass courts. Soon after facing a defeat against Iga Swiatek in Roland Garros, she decided to take on both singles and doubles in Berlin. Although her doubles run had to face a hit in the opening match itself, she managed to be stable on the solo journey, making it to the semi-finals. While it is all about her grass court presence now, Greg Rusedski sees a hidden potential in it.
Former world number four Rusdeski recently predicted that American WTA star Coco Gauff has a strong chance of winning Wimbledon this year. “For Coco, let’s be honest, on the grass against Iga, she’s licking her lips. She said to herself: ‘Now is the time or never for me to start this rivalry,'” he said in his recent presence on the Tennis Channel podcast “Inside-In.”
Along with that, he also appreciated the guidance from her coach, saying, “I think Brad Gilbert did a great job with her, and I think they’re probably saying, ‘Okay, we didn’t play at our best in the French Open semifinals. But now we have Wimbledon coming, this is our chance after winning the US Open last year.'”

Frequent doubles partners & future Olympic doubles partners Coco Gauff & Jessica Pegula about to face off in singles in #Berlin for a place in final

Gauff’s statistics on grass clearly justify Greg’s statement. Looking at her win-loss record on the green surface, she has played 33 matches in all, securing wins in 24 of them. On the other hand, her rival Iga Swiatek’s number remains slightly lower than that of hers. The Pole has played 31 matches on the concerned surface and has won 22 of them.
In the ongoing season, Gauff has already started adding more numbers as she recently defeated Ons Jabeur to secure a position in the semi-finals against Jessica Pegula. Her rival on the other side, has still not played any match after her victory at Roland Garros.

Rusdeski’s prediction has gifted fans with something that they kept looking for: Hope. As the major grass court event is set to begin soon, all eyes will be on the US Open champion to see if she can add one more grand slam to her portfolio. However, it seems like the odds prediction has a different story to narrate.
BETMGM odds place Iga Swiatek over Coco Gauff
Everyone in the tennis world is extending a different name for the upcoming major event in Wimbledon. The spectators recently saw a pop-up during the live stream of a grass court match. The screen contained a list of contenders for the grass-court major, based on their betting odds. While some might name Coco Gauff as the current favorite on this surface, the odds predicted a better future for Iga Swiatek.

With a total of 275 points, the Pole was placed at the top of the list, followed by Aryna Sabalenka with 300 points under her name. Gauff on the other side, appeared in the 4th position after Elena Rybakina with 800 points in her bucket. While the list was merely a prediction based on the recent odds, fans straightforwardly denied its authority, mainly because of the fact that last year’s Wimbledon finalist Ons Jabeur was placed in the sixth slot.
Coco Gauff is currently hustling to make herself better every day. As she is looking forward to securing a spot in the finals against Anna Kalinskaya in Berlin, a test against her friend Jessica Pegula would decide what happens.
