Post-victory, Kartal said,- “Today is a really special day for me. To have people up there (in her box) who have been with me since I was six, and again on Monday, that was a high and now I’ve topped that today. I had a tough start to the year, I didn’t know what I’d be doing this year and to come back in and go straight in the deep in and get my biggest win so far – I’m super proud of that.”

Before participating at Wimbledon, Kartal suffered a major health issue. While she didn’t provide details, Kartal confirmed having doubts about attending any tours this season. “I had a couple of health issues at the start of this year. Pretty serious. I won’t go into the detail but I didn’t think I’d be on tour this year,”- she said. Now, following her baby steps toward victory, people are impressed and awestruck by her tennis skills.
