A 16-year-old sensation has climbed up the ranks in women’s tennis and made her name among other top contenders in slams. Mirra Andreeva, the Russian prodigy has been onto something ever since winning her first WTA match at the Mutua Madrid Open in April. Despite spending most of her time at ITF and Juniors level, she has registered some big wins in the WTA tour.

The Russian won three matches in Madrid and followed it up with a Roland Garros 3rd round run. However, at Wimbledon, she has grabbed all the headlines after booking herself a spot in the Round of 16. Her talent is unquestionable but her passion for the game goes beyond anything which is evident from her on-court reactions.

Well, to succeed at the highest level at just 16 years of age requires a good amount of passion. Andreeva has that in abundance. Moments after being called ‘level-headed‘ by a journalist, the Russian dropped one of the scariest reactions of the tournament where she was found releasing her frustration in a wild manner.

Well, if that’s how she reacts to losing a crucial point, you must be wondering how she would react to winning big points. Well, then. Andreeva let out possibly the loudest shriek to celebrate a big point during her round 3 encounter against Anastasia Potapova.

Watching a 16-year-old filled with fire and rage is a sight to behold. Her passion for the game is a major reason behind her early success. Reaching the second week of a slam in only her second slam appearance is commendable, to say the least. Surprisingly, Andreeva appears to be a shy person off-court, especially in front of her idol.

Mirra Andreeva is a massive Andy Murray fan. She did not expect a sudden jump from the ITF level to the main tour in such a quick time span.?She said during one of her Wimbledon conferences, “I met Andy Murray here. But I’m too shy to talk to him. When I see him, I try to leave the facility super quick just to not talk to him because I’m super shy.

The 16-year-old suddenly found herself breathing the same air as the 3-time grand slam champion, Andy Murray. However, Andreeva admitted that she couldn’t speak to him.
