At just 23, Iga Swiatek has already started ruling women’s tennis. Giving her opponents hardly any breathing space, the Polish star has gone on to win five Grand Slam titles and still has a long way to go. As much of a workaholic as she is on the court, Swiatek is also fond of entertainment off the court. Last year, she even expressed her admiration for the famous TV show, F.R.I.E.N.D.S. In fact, last year when she spotted Matthew Perry in the audience of her match against Ons Jabeur at Roland Garros, she couldn’t concentrate on the game!

But while Friends may have gotten her through ‘lonely’ teenage years, the Polish tennis star is also a fan of another laugh-until-you-cry sitcom, and she caught up with its lead actor recently. Just another day at the office for Iga Swiatek, who’s getting ready for the next Slam!

The Wimbledon Championships’ fever is rising with each passing day. With only a few days to go before the tournament commences, the players are sweating it out on the grass courts at Wimbledon. Further, due to the tournament’s huge popularity, many renowned names across the globe give the event a visit. Earlier today, The Office (US version, not UK!) lead actor, Steve Carell was spotted doing the rounds of different courts at Wimbledon.

While visiting the Centre Court, Carell caught up with World Number 1 in women’s singles, Iga Swiatek. The two were all smiles meeting each other and exchanged some warm words. Swiatek and Carell were also captured in one frame, as Wimbledon’s official Instagram and Twitter handles shared their picture together. Subsequently, Swiatek also reacted with a starry-eyes emoji after meeting Carell, depicting how impressed she was with the renowned actor.

Carell was there as part of a press tour and will be seen in Despicable Me 4, which has a cinema-only release next month. While he will be hoping for the success of his movie, Swiatek will be vying for her first Wimbledon title. Meanwhile, Carell isn’t the only one from the entertainment industry with whom Swiatek has caught up recently. A couple of months back, she had a fun moment with Courteney Cox.

Courteney Cox, who starred as Monica Geller on Friends from 1994 to 2004, was spotted in Paris ahead of the French Open. Interestingly, Swiatek, on her Instagram handle, asked a question about a friendly doubles partner with whom she can play. And to her surprise, Swiatek got a visit from Cox during her practice session for the French Open.

In what was a special moment for Swiatek as Cox picked up a racket and played a few rallies with Swiatek by her side. Indeed, the Polish star got a ‘friendly doubles partner’ as she had manifested. They hit a few rallies on the clay courts in Paris and had a warm moment after Swiatek gave Cox a big hug. Was this manifested in 2022?

Back in 2022, Swiatek had commented on a Cox video playing tennis “after a while” on Instagram, “If we’d play doubles together, no one would have hit you.” The actress responded, “Ok come over and we’ll take him on! I mean this.” Two years later, it’s finally happened!

Swiatek went on to win the French Open after meeting Cox, who proved to be the lucky charm for her. Who knows, Carell might prove to be the same for Swiatek if she goes on to win the Wimbledon Championships. Swiatek, the top seed there, will open her campaign against Sofia Kenin of the United States.
