Romeo Beckham joins the echoes at Center Court! But it was not just a Wimbledon match, it was Emma Raducanu whom he was cheering for! However, after the second-round victory, when asked about Romeo’s presence, not only did Raducanu turn the subject around quickly, but at the same time, she switched the context to his father’s Wimbledon appearance.

In a post-match press conference after defeating Elise Mertens, the British tennis player was asked about the 21-year-old footballer’s presence in the stands. She stated, “I mean, I think he’s, yeah, he’s really cool.” However, just after appreciating him, she smoothly made a transition to David Beckham.

Raducanu added, “His dad is, you know, someone that I think every athlete looks up to, especially every British athlete, you know what he’s kind of gone through with the media, with his career, with the pressure moments. And having David in my first round at the front – was he was there from the start. At first point even when the crowd was pretty empty. So, I have the utmost respect for him and I think he’s just amazing for British sport in general.”

As she was ready to serve, Romeo shared a still from Raducanu’s match. He posted the picture and two white hearts as well. Tennis fans saw that the two had been following each other’s Instagram posts for a while when they noticed this.

A fan on Twitter shared the story and wrote,  “Ok I know they’ve been liking each other’s posts for a while, but now that I’m thinking about it… do y’all think Emma Raducanu is dating Romeo Beckham? Because those love heart emojis, omg??” 

However, on the other hand, where nothing is confirmed, there was an awkward moment between the 21-year-old footballer and the British tennis player’s mother, as both of them were present in the stand to support Raducanu.

Renee Zhaia was observed sulkily stepping past Sami Khedira, the former footballer for Real Madrid, and Romeo, the son of David Beckham. She struggled at first, but eventually found her spot in the row ahead in time to watch her 21-year-old daughter storm to an incredible 6-1 triumph in the opening set.

This carried on the Beckham family’s habit of backing the British player; earlier in the year, David Beckham and his mother Sandra watched Raducanu’s first-round match from the Royal Box on Centre Court. The family’s attendance at Raducanu’s matches has grown to be a prominent feature, underscoring their continued support for the budding talent.
