Coming to Wimbledon this year, all eyes turned to the top guns, including Elena Rybakina to stay right till the end and challenge for the title glory. While the best names stumbled, Elena Rybakina stood right on top and played like a champ to make her way into the semi-finals of the tournament. Elena Rybakina started her Wimbledon campaign with a strong 6-3, 6-1 win over Elena-Gabriela Ruse. She faced a tough match against Laura Siegemund but won in three sets. Krejcikova won the first set after an early break. Despite Ostapenko’s 4-1 lead in the second set, Krejcikova fought back to serve for the match at 5-4. After a brief setback, she won in a tie-break, 6-4, 7-6 (4), reaching the semifinals for the first time.
