Rybakina's cheeky Red Bull moment—Is this the kind of fun tennis needs more of?

Elena Rybakina is ready to serve off-court with her Red Bull deal! She became the first Kazakh player to endorse the brand in May 2023, and currently getting for a Wimbledon SF appearance, Rybakina is ready to do “some crazy stuff” with her Austrian sponsor.

On the court, Rybakina is renowned for her composed manner and unwavering poker face, which frequently leaves her opponents wondering what her next move will be. Red Bull, on the other hand, brings out a different side of the Kazakh player when they collaborate, generating an adrenaline surge that gives her a dynamic edge.

As the 25-year-old tennis player recently sat down with the Tennis Channel’s Live Podcast, she talked about her deal with Red Bull. Rybakina stated, “Well I’ve been lucky to start working with them and actually we have some fun stuff which we want to do but for now I didn’t have much time. So hopefully you will see me doing some crazy stuff outside of the court. But yeah, we will see.”

Along with that, she also emphasized how she herself enjoys doing crazy stuff, even after carrying a calm demeanor. Further, the Kazakh added, “But yeah, we will see. We’ll see. But I love roller coasters. I love all this kind of stuff. So hopefully I can do some fun things also outside of the court when I have more time.”

Last year, an episode of Red Bull’s Mind Set Win Podcast revealed Elena Rybakina’s poker face’s secret. The 2022 Wimbledon champion gives fans and aspiring athletes a unique look into her championship mindset by sharing insights into the mental strategies and techniques that enable her to retain composure and unpredictability on the court.

Rybakina said, “I’m trying not to show emotions no matter the situation, to be calm and not show if I’m upset or angry. This is something that worked especially well in the beginning when no one knows you and you’re coming all calm on the court, but then you’re playing really well.”
