The wait continues for Iga Swiatek. After ending her long-time association with Tomasz Wiktorowski, the World Number 1 is still in search of a perfect coach. Earlier this month, Swiatek dropped a bombshell as she announced that she and Wiktorowski would no longer work together, ending years of successful bond. Together, the partnership worked wonders as Swiatek dominated the WTA circuit. Amid this coaching uncertainty, Swiatek received a warning from a renowned tennis commentator, Marek Furjan.
While there have been several rumors about Swiatek’s next coach, nothing has been finalized yet. As a result, Furjan feels that Swiatek is losing out on time in her search for an ideal coach. With the 2025 season starting in a couple of months, Furjan feels that the time has come for Swiatek to finalize her next coach.
During an interview with Misja Sport, Furjan said, “I can’t imagine Świątek having this coach later than the end of November. She has to have him then. The WTA Finals tournament, in which Iga will most likely play, is a stage where we can still talk, but after this tournament, maybe after starting in the national team, a week off, and hard work, which already has to be done, getting to know the new coach. Because after all, you also have to get to know him as a person. The end of November will be the last moment.”

However, Wiktorowski trashed the rumors, saying, “There have been a lot of speculations and insinuations… Definitely too much, considering that the message that was issued very precisely defines our decision. It is enough to read it with understanding, not with the intention of looking for sensation. Our end of cooperation was done with respect for both parties, and no fake news will change that.”
Swiatek has not played any sort of competitive tennis since her quarterfinal exit in the US Open. She missed the Asian Swing and chose to take personal time off and come back rejuvenated. The 23-year-old will next be seen in action at the WTA Finals in Riyadh.
