The 23-time Grand Slam champion gladly announced the news of her pregnancy during the Met Gala 2023. In an adorable Instagram post, she thanked Ana Wintour for inviting the “three” of them.
As her fans rushed in to congratulate her on the good news as Williams had confessed that she wanted to expand her family, there were some miscreants too. Using outdated medical terminology, “geriatric pregnancy”, these people called her out. This specific term signifies women who give birth after the age of 35. However, ‘Loose Women’ host Judy Love had an appropriate reply for these haters.
In an interview with OK!, she stated, “Because Serena is 41, a couple of commenters have called it a ‘geriatric pregnancy’ but that’s out of order.” Acknowledging that it is a medical term, she questioned people who talked about Williams’ second pregnancy when the tennis star has always flourished. She stated, “I know it’s a medical term, but she’s a happy, healthy, beautiful woman who has had an incredible career.”
Questioning the double standards of society, she added, “Why shouldn’t she have another baby? You don’t see them calling it ‘geriatric sperm’!” The TV star even showed her excitement to know more about the Williams-Ohanian family after the new addition. She added she can’t wait “to see them take on their next adventure.”
This is not the only time that Williams had to face criticism from people during her second pregnancy. In a recent Instagram post too, Williams narrated an ordeal she had to go through.
