During the Tennis Channel Inside-In podcast show, Chanda Rubin hailed the new ‘American tennis queen’ for becoming a major champion and attaining the world No. 3 ranking. The 47-year-old also candidly said that Gauff is focused on winning more Grand Slam titles, as she has now raised the bar.

Rubin said, “So I think for Coco Gauff, it’s about winning more majors. You know, she’s talked about that. And that is the bar. It’s a barometer for any player winning titles, and how many titles can you win in a year? And how big are those titles? So for Gauff? I think that’s going to be the primary thing.”

Meanwhile, the American former top-10 touted her young compatriot to become the ‘world number 1’ on the women’s tour. Rubin said, “But yes, getting to world number one? Absolutely. She’s been number one in doubles. Yeah, why not complete the resume?”

During the podcast show, the tennis veteran also praised Gauff for handling all the pressure and expectations at a young age.

The former American tennis player opened up about how the 19-year-old had a huge hurdle to cross given all the expectations surrounding her at a tender age. Rubin said, “That’s the goal for any player, and certainly for Coco Gauff, that has to be firmly in her sights. I mean, she’s now at a career high of three in the world, is a US Open major champion. Now, that was, I think, a huge hurdle, just because of all of the expectations that have been there, and the pressure from such a young age.”
