Talking to Vanity Fair about her company, Wyn Beauty, Williams reveals there was a time when wearing makeup on the court wasn’t remotely normal, “I remember early on when I wore makeup—not even on the court but just around in the tennis arena—people would look twice. They’d be like, “Why is she wearing makeup?” And I was like, “Well, this is me and this is what I like to do.”

However, she admits that as years passed things changed and she slowly began to see more players with makeup, respecting their wants. She adds, “You would see players walking out with lots of mascara on or, eventually, wearing eyelash extensions if they could. “
Williams has tried all sorts of makeup products while playing tennis. Highlighting the fact that makeup doesn’t cause hindrance in performing better on the court, she recalls a time when she wore eyelash extensions all through a tournament and even ended up winning it. However, she regrets having stopped.
“One tournament, I did wear lashes the whole time. That was a fun experience. I won that tournament too, so I don’t know why I stopped! Each tournament I was just changing things up, trying to find a different way to beautify my sport.” Although William’s brand is not just any makeup brand.
