Former American tennis star Chris Evert is among the top tennis analysts and commentators. The 67-year-old has been covering the game for a long time now and has seen the rise and fall of many top athletes. There always has been an influx of a talented batch of fresh tennis players. However, in WTA, we have recently seen that for top players, it is hard to maintain consistency.

Naomi Osaka is one of the main examples of a player who had a brilliant start. However, currently, she is also struggling. Evert recently came up with a tweet lauding the talent in WTA. She also mentioned the good players who are currently out of form.

Chris Evert reacts to the current lot of WTA players

Evert seems to be pretty happy with the abundance of talent in the WTA. The former world number one took to her Twitter account and wrote about the same. She also mentioned the possibility of talented players like Osaka and Kerber returning in form.

“The @WTA tour is SO strong, just think if Kenin, Brady, Osaka, Andrescu, Kerber, (who am I missing?)get back to their top form, how interesting it will get!” she wrote.

However, fans on Twitter had different thoughts. A few thought that the 67-year-old is promoting the tour, which actually is not doing well. While a few thought she missed out on some big names that should be there on her list.

It’s understandable that fans have not seen a truly dominant tennis star in the WTA. After the retirement of legends like Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova, the world is still to witness a true superstar in Women’s tennis. While Ashleigh Barty did it for a bit, but she retired too early.
