Ons Jabeur is a tennis professional from Tunisia, born on 28th August 1994. Jabeur’s mother introduced her to the sport, and she has devoted her life to tennis ever since. She made her WTA debut in 2012, but she only had her breakthrough seasons only in her late 20s. Since last year, Jabeur has made her way to three Grand Slam finals. She lost the Wimbledon title to Elena Rybakina and the US Open title to Iga Swiatek in 2022. Now, she is all set to vie for the Venus Rosewater dish in her second Wimbledon final today.

She became the third player to enter consecutive Wimbledon finals after Serena and Venus Williams in the last 20 years. While she has managed an impressive feat, she could not have done it without her husband, who is her support system and her fitness coach. 

Meet Ons Jabeur’s husband Karim Kamoun

Ons Jabeur married Karim Kamoun in 2015. While Jabeur is a famous tennis professional, she is not the only athlete in the relationship. From 2003 through 2011, Kamoun was a professional fencer. As per GQ Middle East, he then became a fencing coach in Qatar before leaving in 2017. He gave up the coaching role to accompany his wife on tour full-time.

Kamoun now works as a fitness trainer. According to his Instagram account, he has a master’s degree in sports science. The former fencer frequently uploads pictures of himself working out in the gym. He often accompanies the pictures with inspiring messages.

Relationship timeline

There is no clear indication of when the two began dating, but they were together for two years before they tied the knot. Their wedding took place in November 2015, with the Tunisian player sharing the news on her Twitter page. She wrote, “Happy To announce that me and Karim just got married”. Along with a photo from their wedding, the WTA World No.6 also uploaded a picture of the ceremony.

Kamoun wore a black tux, while Jabeur wore a white gown with lace detailing and a sparkly headband. Since then, the two have been in a solid relationship, with Kamoun even transitioning to be Jabeur’s coach.

Her husband is her support system!

Kamoun is devoted to helping his wife achieve her goals. In an interview with GQ Middle East in 2020, Jabeur revealed that Kamoun used to help her financially so she could afford flights to her tennis events in the early days of her WTA career. On Instagram, Kamoun frequently shares supportive messages and loving tributes while celebrating his wife’s successes with his followers.

He also shared an endearing message when Ons Jabeur played in the 2022 Wimbledon and has been a constant presence at this year’s Wimbledon as well. Along with acting as her fitness coach, Kamoun also helps Jabeur break out of her shell. While speaking to GQ Middle East, Jabeur said, “I did so many things that I never do alone, the touristic things that I hate so much, and he loves it so much and I sacrifice myself to go and do that“.
