Former US Open quarterfinalist Shelby Rogers tied the knot with John Slavik, an American ice hockey professional, last December. The couple tied the knot after dating for 3 years in their hometown. Shelby Rogers started dating John Slavic in the year 2020 and since then they have come a long way.
The tennis star is making a comeback after almost a year at the Australian Open. During the break, in addition to recovering from an injury bout, Rogers also focused on her personal life. Shelby Rogers and John Slavik had been dating for 3 years but they continued to keep their relationship private. With only a few photos on social media, the couple continued to date and finally opened up when Slavik proposed to Rogers on April 1.

John Slavik is a successful ice hockey player and has played for several professional teams. Currently, he plays for Indiana Tech Athletics. However, previously he played for Detroit Fishing Irish. Hailing from the United States of America, Slavik majored in Business Management and Administration.
But fate had different plans for him which is why he landed in ice hockey. He appeared in 10 games as a junior. As a senior, Slavic also led the team for around 874 minutes and scored 39 goals, with a GAA of 2.68, 391 saves, 11 wins, and a .909 percentage.

Not a lot of people know this but Shelby Rogers also has a background in hockey. She played the sport mostly during her school days. Later on, however, she decided to pursue the racket sport. It is so because her sister Sabra Rogers was into tennis and that inspired her to switch from hockey to tennis.

Even though at the moment, the two lovebirds are into different sports, they certainly have a common hailing background in the past.
