Sacha Vickery is currently making rounds around the internet as she is set to play Coco Gauff in her next match in the Stuttgart Open. Gauff’s favorite surface is clay, and with her improvements last year, the tennis world is eager to watch her on clay. She will start her journey against Vickery, who has no plans of letting Gauff beat her. Vickery will take the help of her long-time coach to make sure she at least gives Gauff a battle to remember.
Vickery is taking the guidance of Nabil Badek, who has also coached Alize Cornet and Richard Gasquet, showing he has a good resume. The two have been together for four years, and they will now use their talent to fight Gauff.
Nabil Badek is a French tennis coach who has worked with Vickery since 2019. Badek began coaching in 2004 and has worked with a variety of players, ranging from children to seasoned professionals. Similarly, his reputation is built on his great technical knowledge and ability to improve players’ mental toughness. Badek has helped Vickery improve her serve, footwork, and mental toughness.

Vickery reached her career high of world No. 73 before she met Badek. Furthermore, Nabil is known for his ability to extract the full potential from his players. However, she has fallen a bit short of meeting the demands of the WTA Tour. Since the two met, she has not been able to reenter the top 100. She has also not managed to win any singles ITF titles, which paint a concerning picture for her.
Vickery is currently ranked 134, which she managed after qualifying for the ASB Classics, Puerto Vallarta Open, ATX Open and Charleston Open. She also managed to win her first match in Stuttgart. Now, she faces her ultimate test.

Can Sacha Vickery beat Coco Gauff?
The odds are not in her favor in the slightest. Although Gauff has not played a match since Miami and on clay, she is far and above Vickery to give her a chance to win the bout. Since she did manage to win one match in Stuttgart, she might be able to push the US Open champion, but winning would require her to become one of the best players in the world in the span of a few hours.
Regardless, tennis has seen some of the most unexpected victories in its history. Vickery is no stranger to a miracle than anyone else on tour. Aiming to beat Gauff purely by skill is an occurrence that has a minute chance of happening. Her coach will guide her to the best of her abilities, but beating Gauff is a challenge the two are not ready for.
