Peyton Stearns recently made headlines at the Morroco Open, where she outclassed Mayar Sherif in the championship game. After clinching her maiden WTA singles title, the American tennis player has now established herself as one of the top guns on the WTA circuit. But do you know Stearns isn’t the only one in her family who has been ardently following on-court endeavors?

Just like Peyton, her younger brother, Preston Stearns has also decided to pick up a racket to take the tennis route as well. Following in his sister’s footsteps, the 20-year-old has been playing collegiate tennis for Ohio State University. Prior to joining the University, the WTA player’s brother had also participated in a number of tournaments on the  ITF junior circuit. Back in 2022, Preston delivered some stellar performances to reach the championship game of the ITF junior events in Delray Beach and Santo Domingo.

On top of winning some singles and doubles titles, Preston also reached the top 100 ranking on the ITF junior circuit. As a freshman at St. Xavier High School, Preston has also clinched a doubles state title, and he secured a semifinal finish at the Boys 18s clay court Nationals doubles tournament in 2021. With his brilliant prowess, Preston has undoubtedly become a hot tennis property at the mere age of 20. Not just her brother but Peyton herself used to be a household figure when she played collegiate tennis.

Back in 2022, the American player put on a brilliant display of her tennis prowess as she was crowned the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champion. As she played for the Longhorns, Peyton Stearns became the first Texas player to clinch the singles title in the NCAA community. Stearns was also named the Big 12 Player of the Year and the Big 12 Championship Most Outstanding Player owing to her phenomenal performances for her college.

Aside from these remarkable accolades, the WTA player was also among four finalists for the Class of 2022 Honda Sport Award. Before turning pro in the 2022 season, the American compiled a 51-10 overall record in singles and a 42-17 record in doubles category during her college tennis journey.
