Justine Henin has been inducted into the Hall of Fame owing to her remarkable on-court accolades. With a former number 1 ranking and seven singles Grand Slam titles, she has established herself as a legendary figure on the women’s tour. Aside from her long list of achievements on the court, the Belgian tennis veteran’s private life and relationships have also garnered significant public attention.

Back in 2015, the 7-time singles Grand Slam champion tied the knot with the Belgian film artist, Benoït Bertuzzo. Henin had a private ceremony in Belgium, with only a few close relatives attending. After dating for almost four years and welcoming their daughter, Lalie Bertuzzo, Henin, and Bertuzzo decided to exchange vows. The queen of the one-handed backhand got engaged to her partner in 2011, the same year she put down her racket.

This is the former Belgian tennis player’s second marriage. She got married to Pierre-Yves Hardenne in 2002 when she was to reach the top echelons on the women’s tour. However, things didn’t work out for Henin and her ex-husband, Hardenne, as they got divorced. After four and a half years of marriage, Justine and Hardenne decided to part ways in 2007. Commenting on the idea of ‘remarriage,’ here’s what the former tennis ace previously issued an honest statement.

“I’ve never said that I would never remarry”– Justine Henin got real about her second marriage

In a previous interview, Henin previously opened up about her views on getting married for the second time as she tied the knot with her second husband. Meanwhile, the WTA veteran also couldn’t hold herself back from expressing her excitement to marry the ‘father’ of her little girl, Lalie. The Hall of Famer said, “I’ve never said that I would never remarry! It’s not that because it didn’t work once that we don’t have the right on the second chance. I can’t imagine not being married to the father of my little girl.”

While calling herself old-fashioned, Henin also revealed that she believes in the idea of marriage. “Maybe I am old-fashioned, but I believe in marriage,” the tennis legend said. It certainly looks like the former tennis ace has found love off the court in her second marriage with Benoït Bertuzzo.
