Ukrainian tennis star Marta Kostyuk‘s wedding dress truly surprised her fans. The 35-ranked WTA star tied the knot with fiance Heorhii last November in a lavish resort in Cyprus. However, her wedding dress was the true showstopper of the event. While many tennis stars opt for conventional designer wedding gowns, Kostyuk truly turned heads by opting for a special brand to design her special gown.

Kostyuk shared an exclusive message on her official Instagram account following a set of pictures, including concept sketches and snippets from her wedding day. These pictures showcased a beautiful Kostyuk on her wedding day, posing with the flower bouquet, her fiance, and friends with a page that revealed the sketches behind her wedding dress inspiration. She adorned a flowing white dress with flowers, a front plunging neckline, double straps over a partially open back, and a tulle train.

Sharing these, Kostyuk wrote, “Wilson has always supported my dreams on the court, but my relationship with the brand goes far beyond tennis. A big shout out and huge thank you to the talented team there that worked around my demanding tour schedule to make another dream come true; a custom, one-of-a-kind wedding dress that turned out even more amazing than I could have imagined. @wilsontennis @wilson.”

Not just her wedding dress, but her fiance’s wedding suit was also designed by the same brand. She added, “P.S. George’s suit is also @wilson.” The brand commented on her post, “Honored to be part of your wedding day.”

Initially, Kostyuk used to only play with Wilson tennis rackets but continued sporting Nike apparel and footwear. But in 2023, she became the first player to sign a head-to-toe-plus-equipment sponsorship deal with the Chicago-based brand.

In 2022, her Nike deal was expiring, and she needed a new apparel and footwear sponsor. That’s when Wilson entered the picture. It was a turning point in her career because she hit a career-high in 2022. In 2022, she reached a career-best world ranking of 49 in singles by February and 39 in doubles by September.

Previously, in a press conference in January 2023, Kostyuk admitted, “Growing up in a tennis family, Wilson has always been a trusted staple in my game for as long as I can remember. It feels surreal to officially be playing and wearing Wilson; a partnership that I know will inspire and evolve, just as the game does.”

Around a month into signing the landmark deal, Kostyuk made a statement. She won her first WTA singles title in Austin, Texas, in February clad in a red, Wilson dress—one of a multitude of pieces that she wore this year that was designed with her feedback. So, when she said previously, “It is going to be exciting because we are working on every piece separately… Every collection has its own purpose. It is going to be fun,” she quite literally meant it.

Growing up in a tennis family, Kostyuk has always been familiar with the brand. Thus, is it shocking she decided to trust them on her biggest day? Probably not!
