A Twitter user accused Navratilova of looking like a man. He mocked her appearance, outfit, and the cap (put backward) in particular. The Czech-American legend was furious at the accusation. She quoted him and said, “So this the photo this a**hole chose to make a point that I just might be a man? Says she was or still is a woman. Somehow I don’t believe it. But yeah, what woman would wear a baseball hat backwards? This one:)

Navratilova goes on to ask a rhetorical question regarding which woman wears caps backward and answered herself. She used a smiling emoticon to sarcastically show how offended she was by the accusation. This wasn’t her first feud on Twitter, and definitely not her last. In fact, Navratilova would not even spare renowned journalists.

When Martina Navratilova called out a renowned American journalist

It was none other than Emma Vigeland, a well-known American journalist. She shared her views on traditional gender roles that did not sit right with Navratilova. The former world number 1 questioned the integrity of the journalist’s statement.

Being a woman doesn’t mean being feminine… it can be that but absolutely doesn’t mean it needs to be that. Male gaze… I mean whaaaat?!?”, tweeted the Czech American legend.  Navratilova has always stood up against gender inequality and she was not going to let this one slide easily.
