

Last month was an emotional month for tennis fans all over the world. It marked the end of the careers of Serena Williams and Roger Federer, two of the sport’s greatest players. While Serena retired after the US Open, Federer called time on his illustrious career after the Laver Cup.

The two had been battling injuries over the past few years. Moreover, with age not by their side, they decided that it was the best time for them to bid adieu to tennis. Meanwhile, Serena’s elder sister, Venus Williams continues to play on the WTA Tour. Serena once took a hilarious dig at her sister for her longevity in tennis.
Serena Williams shows off her humorous side
A few years back, a video of Simone Biles and Aly Raisman’s interview went viral. In the interview, the interviewer could be heard saying, “If you pass 20, you’re better in the sport.” Reacting to this statement, Serena said, “What does that make Venus?”

Further, fans too had interesting comments on Serena’s reaction. One of the fans said, “Too funny! That must make Venus the Grand Old Dame!” Meanwhile, another one wrote, “A veteran…I love you sisters.”

Serena and Venus have gone on to become one of the greatest siblings in the sporting world. Together, they have a combined total of 30 Grand Slam singles titles. Additionally, they formed a deadly duo while playing doubles together. They went on to win 14 Grand Slam doubles titles as a team.
Serena and Venus enjoy their time together
The two sisters are in Florida where they attended Alice in Chains Show in West Palm Beach. At that event, Serena and Venus could be seen rocking out and singing along. They are huge fans of the veteran grunge act.
