Could endometriosis be the reason behind Collins’ retirement call? 

In the past, the 30-year-old WTA star has been struggling with her menstrual cycles and the pain that comes with it. While a lot of doctors suggested to her that the period pain was normal, she went through an unexpected endometriosis surgery in 2021.

A few years ago, in a candid interview, she highlighted, “The agony that I experienced from my menstrual cycles and from the endometriosis is some of the worst pain I’ve ever had. It was scary at times.” Although after a year she made a comeback in 2022 and even made it to the Australian Open final, it won’t be wrong to say that one of the biggest reasons behind her retirement might be her struggles with endometriosis.
