Such has been the stature of the American tennis legend, that she often left others behind and finished on the podium. However, one of the players that came close to competing with Serena was Caroline Wozniacki.

The Danish star is a former World Number 1 and 2018 Australian Open champion. She was regarded for her consistency in the competitive field of women’s tennis. Although she didn’t have a superior head-to-head record against Serena, the 31-year-old often dug deep in big tournaments.

Wozniacki tied the knot with the former basketball player, David Lee, in June 2019. Recently, she received a wonderful surprise from her husband.

The former World Number 1 tennis player took to Instagram to share her excitement after receiving a lovely surprise from her husband. Posting a story on her official Instagram account, she said, “Dav, for what I’m excited right now, why I’m really excited?” Further, David said, “Because your husband is driving you to the Justin Bieber concert.” Looking thrilled, Wozniacki said, “We’re going to Justin Bieber!” Giving a smile, David further said, “Her excitement far exceeds mine.”

Justin Bieber’s concert was held at the FTX Arena in Miami, yesterday. Moreover, Wozniacki, who happens to be a huge Justin Bieber fan, was excited to attend his concert with her husband.

Earlier this month, Wozniacki played one final match in front of her home crowd. She faced her on-court rival and close friend, Angelique Kerber, at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen. The Danish star had the last laugh, as she prevailed in straight sets against Kerber. The match had her family and friends in attendance. Wozniacki had retired after the Australian Open in 2020 to start a family with David Lee. Last year, the couple welcomed their first child in June.
