With fans rallying behind Rybakina, is she the new face of tennis resilience?

Tennis truly tests even the toughest, and Elena Rybakina is the latest player to feel the weight of this reality. The Kazakh star’s unexpected split with her coach, Stefano Vukov, just before the US Open sent shockwaves through the tennis world, leaving fans and pundits scratching their heads. But now, things have taken an even more intriguing turn. Russian journalist Sonya Tartakova recently made a revelation that has simmered the situation even further, adding a layer of mystery to Rybakina’s decision. Amidst all this, well-wishes have been pouring in for Rybakina, as fans rally around her during this uncertain time.

In an interview about the Kazhak player, the journalist claimed that she faced severe stress as a result of her partnership with her ex-coach. She attributed this stress to the latest withdrawals and health crises that the 25-year-old faced. Remember, Rybakina has already withdrawn from nine tournaments this season, with the latest being at the China Open.

Speaking about the tennis star, Tartakova said, “Many people do not understand the reason for such health problems. They said that she is having difficulties, back problems. This is the official reason. Then, during this year, she had stomach problems. But as people who did not work with her, but were involved in her professional career, say, she is now under a lot of stress, and this is all psychosomatic.” While Rybakina has not confirmed any of these claims, the fans took the matter into their own hands and wished a speedy recovery to the player.

You honestly never know what’s going on in these player’s lives, what they could be dealing with internally.” Remember, Vukov and Rybakina’s stint was not short-term. Oh wow… all I can say is I hope Elena is ok & getting the support she needs, this is such a sad situation 💔.” The struggles of the season were highlighted by Rybakina herself when she announced her withdrawal from the Beijing Open. “This has been a challenging year and I am grateful for the support from the tournament organizers and all of my fans. My team and I will work on getting me back on the court before the season finale,” Rybakina said. She was soon spotted practicing with another coach soon after her split and hinted that she desired to move on from her previous partnership.

Yet another user responded similarly to the post and wrote, “god, this is so sad, and makes me so angry to read. I hope Elena can take some time to recover and take care of herself 😔🩷🫶🏼” Remember, the Kazhak player has witnessed quite a successful season, but the alleged psychological stress that she is facing is reportedly taking a toll on her health and talent simultaneously. Interestingly, there are rumors of her former coach being banned by the WTA. However Rybakina never supported this claim and in fact said, “I would never accept a coach that didn’t respect me and all our hard work.”

One more user wrote, “I hope she’s ok and she fully heals ❤️‍🩹.” For now, it would be interesting to see if Elena Rybakina or her former coach will come out to issue a statement anytime soon. Can Stefano Vukov debunk the claims? Well, only time will tell.
