Serena Williams and her sister, Venus Williams, did not enjoy the summer at the All England Club this year. Serena bowed out in the first round of the women’s singles category after pulling out due to an injury. On the other hand, Venus lost to Ons Jabeur in the second round of the women’s singles category.
The two sisters have won six Wimbledon Championships in the women’s doubles category together and were seen practicing together before the tournament.

Serena Williams crashes out in the first round at Wimbledon Championships 2021
Serena Williams did not have the best of experiences at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. She has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles in her long and illustrious career, one short of the record all-time record. She needs one Grand Slam title in order to equal Margaret Court’s record of 24 Grand Slam titles.
However, the American slipped on the court during her first-round match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich. She went out limping, as she injured her ankle on the court and did not finish even the first set. It was a sad end to her tournament, especially considering her withdrawal from the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Serena will be hopeful of a comeback in August, when she will be contesting at the US Open, in New York.

Venus Williams crashed out of the singles category in the second round, after losing to Ons Jabeur. The number 21 seed created history after beating the American and went on to break a few more records. However, Venus did not really enjoy her experience at Wimbledon, as she lost 5-7, 06 to the Tunisian.
Life became more difficult for the senior Williams, as her mixed doubles partner, Nick Kyrgios, injured himself during his singles game. The injury resulted in the pair pulling out of the mixed doubles category. They won the first round in the mixed doubles event; however, could not repeat the same performance later on.
The Williams’ sisters era seems to be nearing an end, as many have suggested. Serena and Venus are 39 and 41 years old respectively, but they have proven their longevity over the years. It will be a wonderful moment for their fans if the duo can play and win a Grand Slam title together again.
