After securing the biggest win of her career over Danielle Collins, the Serb crossed another hurdle, this time over Donna Vekic. While the WTA star was taken by surprise after her R3 victory, tears rolled down her cheeks.

Olga Danivolic just won her sixth match in a row at the French Open. While she had to start her run from the qualifying rounds, the Serb didn’t show any signs of being tired yet. After serving a defeat to her third-round rival Donna Vekic in three long sets, the tennis star couldn’t contain her emotions and therefore shed tears of joy and celebration.

“I have no words. Thank you everyone for supporting me here in this match. I’m enjoying Jj time here so much. I don’t even know how I won this match. I was coming back and down so many times,” she said, mentioning how she herself found it hard to trust her surroundings after securing the last win.

Along with extending a vote of thanks to the French crowd that regarded her with continuous applause, the tennis star also returned the respect back to the people of Paris. “I’m so happy. I just want to say thank you everyone for being here. You’re really a tennis country. I don’t know what to say,” she added.

Olga Danilovic is serving every other opponent with a hard time. While she now finds herself waiting for the R4 rival, it still remains to be seen who would grab the opportunity to stand against her.

The French Open 2024 is moving ahead swiftly, with just a few minute issues visible every now and then. While the authorities are forced to raise the covers every time rain showers try to harm the red dirt, the matches have been facing extensive delays on almost every other day. Acknowledging the issues as a real hindrance to the flow of the event, Olga Danilovic said, “It’s been so many rain delays. Not good weather.”

The showdowns continue to be held at the Roland Garros one after the other. While the rain delays may be a problem, the authorities have been closely working to provide the players as well as the spectators with the best possible solutions.
