It was the night of the third round of the US Open 2021 and fans witnessed a really intriguing three-set thriller there. In a huge upset, Garbine Muguruza battled past defending US Open finalist, Victoria Azarenka and defeated her in three sets. The final scoreline of the match was 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

Even though Victoria Azarenka played well, Garbine Muguruza was simply the better player in the match. The Spaniard maintained a high 74% win percentage on her first serve and even converted a total of six break-points out of fifteen.

Interestingly, in the post-match interview, a journalist mistakenly, referred Muguruza as ‘Bianca’. It was a very funny moment for the fans and they could not control their laughter.

“Bianca, firstly, many congratulations. This has been a blockbuster match,” said the journalist while asking a question to Muguruza.

Interestingly, the journalist didn’t even correct himself after the mistake. It was perhaps due to the fact that he was overwhelmed by such a brilliant performance by Muguruza that all his attention was to ask about the Spaniard’s reaction. However, it could also be because he actually forgot her name and confused her with former US Open champion, Bianca Andreescu.
