World No. 6 Elina Svitolina made her nation proud as she bagged a Bronze medal in the women’s singles category at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Even though she was a set down against Elena Rybakina in the bronze medal match, she made an incredible comeback against the Kazakh player and defeated her in three sets. The final scoreline of the match was 1-6, 7(7)-6(5), 6-4.
After winning the Bronze medal, Elina Svitolina landed in Kyiv, Ukraine. Interestingly, she received a really warm welcome as hundreds of fans showed up at the airport to honor her. Along with the fans, the media was also there and the Ukrainian player felt like a warrior who has just come back after winning a tough battle.

It is a moment of pride for Svitolina and her family. She played some fantastic tennis at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and deserved to win. After recently getting married to French tennis star, Gael Monfils, the Bronze has only taken her happiness to the next level.

Elina Svitolina in the 2021 tennis season
It has been a topsy-turvy season for Svitolina so far. Even though she enjoyed some great starts, she has failed to win any title except for the Bronze medal that she recently achieved at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The World No. 6 player managed to reach the quarters of the Australian Open 2021 but failed to go beyond that. Her best performance came at the Miami Open 2021 where she played some great tennis but, unfortunately, lost to Ashleigh Barty in the semis. The Ukrainian star reached the semis of the WTA Stuttgart Open 2021 as well but lost in the semis there.
Svitolina failed to impress fans on clay and grass. However, her fans continued to back her and she finally delivered at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. It is just the start for her and she might regain her form after her recent glory. Will she be able to succeed at the US Open 2021?
